Introducing Myself
Hello, I’m Nooka! I’m a masters student at SMU Guildhall, specializing in the Production track.
I grew up playing edutainment games like The ClueFinders, but for the most part I didn’t play too many video games until a few years ago, when I transferred into the Game Art program at my undergrad. That might seem like an odd choice for a “non-gamer,” but when I changed my major, I knew in my gut it was the right move for me.
Since then I’ve been steadily building my games library, reading Gamasutra articles, and watching YouTube video essays. After I graduated, I started spending a lot of time with the Philly Game Mechanics. They host fun, creative game jams, and I’ve worked on some pretty great teams too! If it wasn’t for PGM, I probably would’ve waited a few more years before applying to Guildhall.
I’m here now, though — just starting my second semester and getting into my production classes. I’m excited to learn more about sustainable methods of game development and sharing what I find with you!
